The solar panel is designed in flat plates that absorb the sun’s rays and produce electricity with energy. Solar panels have dramatically reduced utility bills over the past few decades.
Installation of solar panels: (1)
Electricity produced by solar panels can be used for homes or commercially. Whether you use it for home or business, in both cases solar panels are mounted at the roof so maximum light can be absorbed and maximum production of electricity can be made.
Following steps are involved in installing the solar panels.
- Mount installation:
This process is the basis of installing solar panels. Installation can be roof-ground or flush mount as per need. SUPPORT and STURDINESS are provided with the help of this base structure. Extra care is given to wires so they can be installed safely. If you are living in the northern region, the best way to face solar panels is towards the south so they can absorb maximum light. East and west can also help but the south is preferred. If you are installing solar panels in the southern region, then solar panels must be faced towards the north so they can absorb maximum light.
While facing, solar panels must be placed in some tilted position. The tilted angle should be eighteen to thirty-six degrees. Solar trackers are used by companies to increase the efficiency of conversion.
- Install the solar panels:
The second step is to install the solar panels and fix them with the mounting base. This is usually done with the help of nuts and bolts. The whole process is done carefully so the structure remains sturdy and it should last longer.
- Do electrical wiring:
The third step is to do electrical wiring. MC4 connectors are used during the wiring of solar panels because they can be easily connected with almost all types of solar panels. The following series are used during the wiring of solar panels:
- Series connection: in the case of series connection, the positive wire of PV MODULE is attached to the negative end of another module. With the help of a battery bank, this type of wiring can be used to enhance the match of voltage.
- Parallel connection: this connection is different from the series connection as parallel wiring is done. Positive to positive and negative to negative wiring is done in parallel connection. Wiring of this type is the same in all types of panels.
- Connect the system to solar inverter:
In this step, the system is attached to the solar inverter. The positive end of the inverter is attached to the positive end of the solar panel and the negative end of the inverter is connected to the negative end of the solar panel. After the wiring, the inverter is attached to the solar battery so the grid can be maintained to produce electricity.
- Connect the solar inverter to the solar battery:
In this step, the connection of the solar inverter and the solar battery is done. The positive end of the battery is attached to the positive end of the solar inverter and the negative end of the battery to the negative end of the solar inverter. The battery is required so it can store energy and provide store backup when no sunlight is available.
- Connect the solar inverter to the grid:
This is the second last step where the inverter is connected with the grid. The normal plug is used to attach to make the connection with the switchboard. Output wire of solar panel is attached to the electric board that supplies electricity to the house.
- Start solar inverter:
When all the connection and wiring is completed, now you have to switch on the MAIN SWITCH of your house to check the working. Some solar panels have DIGITAL DISPLAYS that show the units of solar usage and generation.
Cost of solar panels in 2021
The cost of the solar panel is around 20,474 dollars for a ten-kilo wat system. The cost of solar panels has decreased about twenty percent from the last five years. Solar panels are more worthy than before. Installation for solar panels is separate and it depends according to the size of solar panels. The cost for installing a ten-kilo wat solar panel is around 17,612 dollars in the United States. The cost of solar panels varies from state to state and brand to brand.
Are solar panels worth it? (2)
It is the most important question customers ask before buying the solar panel. They might discuss it with their relative and closed one already using solar panels. Solar cost is estimated according to the return you get after investment. Investment in solar systems is very important to homeowners as it is a lifetime investment. Return on investment can be achieved within seven to eight years after investing. After that point, you will use electricity free of cost. You will generate your electricity and you don’t have to pay utility bills after those years.
Benefits of installing solar panels:
Here are some benefits you get after investing in solar panels:
Reduce or eliminate electricity bills
With solar panels, you can reduce your electricity bills. If your family is small and you need average electricity that can be covered with solar panels, then bills can be eliminated. In summers you might run short with solar panels but in winters solar panels are more than enough to light your house.
Earn tax credits and rebates:
This is one of the biggest benefits when you get paid for solar panels. Thirty percent is paid back to you from the FEDERAL INCOME TAX CREDIT when you pay your taxes. You can save around 7500 dollars on solar panels worth twenty-five thousand dollars.
Start saving from day one:
Solar panels start benefiting you on day one as the cost of utility bills is reduced. It is a long-term saving as the sun will provide light permanently.
Help the environment and help us all:
Solar panels are safe for the environment as compared to other products of electricity. It helps in combating gas emissions from the greenhouse effect.
